Holborn Hotel - Thurso

This hotel met needs well in every way, would recommend. Location in the middle of the city was a plus. The property was very close to Thurso downtown. The restaurant here was terrific which offered contemporary Scottish cuisine which was exceptional, we both ordered excellent dishes.

Hotel as a whole is comfy and fabulous, I loved it.

The staff is efficient and accommodating.

It was modern, spotless and with big bed. There was variety of fine meals. The staff was excellent and amicable in all services.

The room was great value for money and well-appointed with tea and coffee making facilities, a work desk, and TV.

The staff were super friendly and made our stay super enjoyable! The location was best for exploring the beach! Just a heads up, the dining hours can be a bit short.

The dining experience shines here, particularly with the Red Pepper Restaurant's fresh local seafood that elevates the stay. Breakfast is a highlight, with a traditional Scottish spread that's worth waking up for.

Room size varies significantly. Some feel like broom cupboards, lacking proper space and privacy, especially those overlooking fire escapes. The bathrooms need an update, with fans inadequate for humidity and some toilets sporting flimsy seats. Limited power outlets make it inconvenient to use appliances, and the noise from the street can be bothersome into the early morning hours.

The family room was super clean and really comfy. We felt right at home! The bed was great, and there was plenty of space for us. Just a perfect little spot to crash after the music festival. The decor was pretty basic but honestly, it didn't bother us at all. It had everything we needed, and we had a wonderful stay! Nothing negative to mention, just a solid experience all around.

We loved how close the hotel was to the beach and attractions like John O'Groats. The rooms were clean and well-decorated, and the staff were super friendly. Just a quick heads up, remember to check the dining hours, as some places may close early.

Lovely family spot

The place was really nice for our fam! The room was clean and comfy. We enjoyed dinner at the bar, it was a chill vibe. The only bummer was the limited parking. Oh, and the staff were super friendly! Would've liked an updated bathroom though. A great stay for one night with our little one.
